At the Center of the Umaverse, we try to provide accommodation services with regard to customer satisfaction & we will do almost everything we can to meet your expectations. With a variety of offerings to choose from, we're sure you'll be happy working with us. 

We can also offer access to various different activities in our area. They are:-  The Twin Coast Cycle Trail, Fishing, Milking on a Dairy Farm Experience, Kayaking, Natural Horsemanship workshops,Horse trekking, Bus tours, Drum Workshops, Bush Walks, Local Markets and Animal Healing Work. You can ask for information on any of these and more, we are more than willing to help.

We can facilitate pick up and delivery to the start and ffinish if you are riding the Cycle trail. We are 20kms from the Horeke end of the trail.

Although we are about "Getting away from it all", the property does have good wi-ffi coverage, just in case you need it.

We offer a relaxing quiet retreat from the world that will leave you rested and at peace, to enable you a positive return to your regular existence.

What we have:
We have four separate spaces to stay in. Three are individual units that we call Whare, this is Maori for House. They are all simple and private. The other space is a room in the main house. We consider ourselves "Green" and therefore foster these practices. Solar power and gas are our main sources of energy. We also have a composting toilet in the Wharepaku(Bathroom) which is near the outside Whares for guests to use. Each Whare has solar lighting, but otherwise they are totally unplugged from the network. 

Whare Tahi: Private Unit, Queen size bed to sleep in. Small set of draws. Towels provided for bathing. Small mirror.
Solar lights. No plugs. Table and chairs for sitting on deck.

Whare Rua: Two Single beds to sleep in. Small set of drawers. Towels provided for bathing.Solar lights. No plugs.
Table and chairs.

Whare Toru: Double bed to sleep in. Towels provided for bathing. Solar lights. No plugs.
Table and chairs inside or on deck.

Room in the Main House: Ground floor private room. King size bed to sleep in. Towels provided for bathing.
Access to main bathroom. TV and DVD player.

Wharepaku(Bathroom): There is a separate building near the Whares. It has a composting toilet, a basin and a shower. The shower is run by a gas califont. This is also "unplugged".

Meals; Meals that you require can be provided. Meals will be served in our main house kitchen and dining room.
All we ask is that you please let us know in advance. We charge $20 per person for any cooked meals.

Pricing: $75 per night per person, this includes continental breakfast. 15% discount over a week (i.e. Stay 6 nights, get the 7th free.) Deposit required.

For a full refund of accommodation fees, cancellation must be made 5 full days prior to local check in time on the day of check in. e.g. If check-in is on Friday, cancel by the previous Sunday before check in time. If  cancelled less than 5 days in advance, the 1st night is non-refundable but  accommodation fees for remaining nights will be refunded. If after arrival decision is made to leave early, the accommodation fees for the nights not spent after the cancellation occurs are refunded.

Packages: 

Two nights stay for two $200. Start at Center of the Umaverse, we will drop you off at Okaihau in the morning, Pick up at Opua in the afternoon/evening using your car , next day drop off at Okaihau, pick up at Horeke , Dinner for two nights. Total $380.

One night stay for two. Start your ride at Opua.  We will pick you up at Horeke, drive back to collect car at Opua, Back for dinner.  Total; $200.

Travel to Cape Reinga (2 hr 30 min drive from Center of the Umaverse), return for dinner. Next day after breakfast travel to the historic village of Kohukohu, catch the Hokianga Harbour ferry to Rawene, then carry on down the West Coast to Tane Mahuta on the way South to your next stop. Dargaville hosts an interesting rail trail using re-purposed golf buggy s.
